Totally agree. Nothing of value here but a two person argument

Yeah - so there!

And to be honest - I never had any problem with running, until it became sooooo overdone, and started impacting the gamepley for those who didn't want to be run everywhere...

I have seen runners go from Ascalon to Beakon's Perch for as little as 1 Platinum and seen some run for tips just to beat a runner like me that's asking 2.5 Plat. OK-so he gets the run from me, but in the end, everyone that wants a run in the future will expect it for that price and pretty soon, all the runners will be working for peanuts.
Charge whatever you want for the use of your time, but don't expect people to pay it. What you can do, however is provide potential clients with references (i.e. ask people who are satisfied with your service if you can use them as a reference). This is why Lady Blue Steel's running academy is so succesful - advertising - quite brilliant I might add. It's the same as real life - if you run a good roofing service, you're bound to lose business to a guy that's charging less than you - but they may find that their roof leaks.

Stick to your guns. This run probably takes about 20-30 minutes, and the Beacon's Perch to Droknar's used to be about the same (before the nerf) - and that run normally goes for 3k. If some guys is trying to undercut you, change districts, try again. People "running for tips" often do not do the run that often, and probably will not get there as quickly as someone who can do it with their eyes closed.

I "partly" attruibute this to more people having played long enought to be on their second charachter.

But yes it is abit common.

The ideal soloution would for me still leave it open for those who have completed it, but stop it for those that havnt.

Indeed. Don't bitch because someone has moved in and provided a similar service for less/gratis. That's called competition, and there's nothing wrong with it. If you don't like it, do the more difficult runs where people can't easily run for peanuts.

To put things into context, if this was in the real world, a lot of you guys would be prosecuted by the Office of Fair Trading for price-fixing (as can be seen by the fact you're complaining people are charging less)

Finally got to Lions Arch with my 2nd chracter, my 1st beat the game some time ago and 1st time starting over.

So many people trying to get people for a run and people looking for runner now. Some area's more runners then people wanting to group. At least I'm getting very good using henchmen

But again, (to my orginal thought) running prices are driven by supply and demand. I have no objections unless it's to be "l33t" in the starting arena's for faction farming.

Simply put, several arguments as to the anti running view have been put through, and i have put through counter arguments.

you had 2 options

1. counter my arguments / explain what you mean i.e how running actually affects players skill, compared to my argument agains that. Esseintally back up what you state

2. repeat yourself / refuse to address my points / say Dax is right and runners are wrong.

you took option 2, take option 1 and i wont call your arguments rubiish.
Umm.. I thought I did. Several times. Also showed that I did prove you complained that the game was boring (which you denied) in the same sentence. I'm not complaining that you refused to answer that am I?

I've never said my opinion was right, it's just my opinion. I only reply myself because you reply to me. I'm sorry if it seems like repeating myself, as I can only answer the same question only so many ways.

There's nothing I can do to stop runners from running other people I know that, but I do think I have a right to my opinion...if you don't like it stop replying to my posts because I will answer you.

yes I did bother to read what you posted. my point is that it is more likley a person will run on a second third or fourth char. so the supply of people as you put it who actually want to play the game in stead of getting run becomes in essence a problem of not enough new players to balance out the older players who no longer care about the story. of course since there plenty of people playing the game who don't think about things much perhaps the older players are shall we say a bad influence on those who might have done the story a second time and on those who are impatient and new to the game.
